10 civilians dead in Khartoum in latest attack by paramilitary

SUDAN witnessed the latest incident of death among its civilians following the artillery shelling by the paramilitary this week.

The latest round of attacks claimed the lives of 10 civilians and injured 11 others.

A local resistance committee said that some shells fell on a mosque, a health center, and the homes of citizens.

The latest incident of violence happened two days after at least 51 people were killed and dozens wounded in air strikes on a market in southern Khartoum.

A conservative estimate from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data showed that nearly 7,500 people have died since intense fighting broke out between the Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum on April 15.

Additionally, the United Nations World Food Program warned that a hunger emergency awaits thousands of South Sudanese families fleeing the war in Sudan.

Data from the United Nations showed that the ongoing conflict has displaced about 4.3 million people within Sudan, in addition to around 1.2 million more who have fled across borders.
