Ayon kay Philippine Army spokesperson Col. Xerxes Trinidad, nakatakda para sa techinical inspection ngayong buwan ang nasabing kagamitang pandigma bago ang pormal na pagtanggap ng Army Artillery Regiment (AAR).
Aniya, ang TIAC (Technical Inspection Acceptance Committee) ang magsasagawa ng inspeksyon sa mga yunit.
“Once inspected in accordance with the specifications and accepted by the committee, training of personnel will be required then deployment of the new asset of the Army. As of now, the Army still waits for the formal acceptance of the new assets,” pahayag ni Trinidad.
Dagdag ni Trinidad, layunin ng pagbili ng 12 self-propelled howitzers ay ang pagbigay ng ‘mobility with firepower’ sa AAR.
“It is in addition to the existing fire support artillery guns, the 155mm-towed howitzers,” dagdag ni Trinidad.
