Australian passport among world’s strongest in 2024 rankings

THE new quarterly report released by the Henley Passport Index named Australia as the country with the 6th most powerful passport in the world for this year.

The latest list published by the London-based global citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley and Partners showed France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain at the top, with visa-free access to 194 countries.

Meanwhile, Australia, Czechia, New Zealand, and Poland tied for the sixth place, with visa-free access to at least 189 countries.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq were named among the last three least powerful passports in the Index, allowing citizens to travel visa-free to only 28, 29, and 31 countries respectively.

Latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics named New Zealand as the most popular international travel destination for Australian residents.

The London-based investment migration consultancy firm used exclusive data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA).

Aside from the Henley Global ranking, the Australian passport ranked 6th place on the latest Guide Passport Index/and 7th place worldwide by the 2024 Passport Index.
