THE City government of Davao, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), promptly gave aid to the fire victims of Purok 5 Trading Boulevard in Barangay 37-D.
The CSWDO’s Mobile Kitchen immediately served hot meals to the fire victims.
The City Mayor’s Office (CMO) later gave out food and non-food assistance. The CMO also distributed hygiene and disaster response kits after the validation by the CSWDO Direct Service Implementers (DSI).
Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II representing the office of first district representative Paolo Duterte also provided P3,000 cash support for boarders and sharers, and P5,000 for homeowners.
A number of fire victims are temporarily living in the barangay gymnasium while the others are staying with close relatives.
The CSWDO also set up a child-friendly space inside the evacuation site to provide kids with a safe and supportive environment and help them deal with the situation through psychosocial activities.
A total of 24 families were affected when a fire razed houses in Trading Boulevard dawn of February 16. According to the official report of CSWDO, Twelve homes had complete damage, two had partial damage, and four had minor damage. Damages from the fire incident totaled P4,479,000. CIO
