THE City Government of Davao continues to attend to the needs of Dabawenyos affected by the overflow of some rivers in the city on Thursday evening.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) together with the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), Davao City Police Office, Task Force Davao, and various disaster response groups and volunteers, led the preemptive evacuation efforts and rescue operations on Thursday evening.
The City Mayor’s Office together with the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) also deployed four buses to pick up stranded commuters last night.
The city’s mobile kitchens were deployed to serve hot meals to the affected residents who are temporarily taking shelter at various evacuation sites in the city.
Community cooking’s were also done by the different Barangay Councils.
Teams from the City Health Office (CHO) were also deployed to provide medical support to the residents.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has set up child-friendly spaces at the evacuation sites to provide psychosocial support to the affected children.
Teams from the City Mayor’s Office, CSWDO, CHO, CDRRMO, DCPO, together with the respective Barangay Councils, and other frontline agencies continue to assist the affected residents and will continue to ensure their safety and welfare.
