THE situation in Gaza remains dire, with the Hamas-run Health Ministry reporting a total of 10,328 Palestinian death as Israel’s ongoing attacks on the territory entered the second consecutive month.

This number includes a tragic toll of 4,237 children, 2,719 women, and 631 elderly individuals. Additionally, more than 25,000 people have been injured, as said by ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qedra.

Al-Qedra highlighted the Israeli targeting of the medical facilities, emphasizing the urgent need for action by the international community and the World Health Organization (WHO) to provide protection for hospitals.

He pointed out the Israeli military’s threat to strike the al-Rantisi Specialized Hospital in northern Gaza, warning it could lead to a major catastrophe since it houses more than 70 children receiving life-saving treatment inside.

Moreover, the spokesperson called for the establishment of a safe humanitarian corridor to ensure the flow of medical aid and fuel, evacuate the wounded to receive treatment outside Gaza, and enable specialized medical delegations to enter the territory.

In the West Bank, 163 Palestinians had lost their lives by Tuesday, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

Meanwhile, more than 1,400 people have died on the Israeli side due to the conflict, according to Israel’s health ministry.
