Dito telecom assures subscribers of reactivation options

THE new major telecommunications player, Dito telecom, reassured its subscribers that they would provide options for reactivating their SIMs and completing proper registration after the SIM registration law’s deadline had lapsed.

The SIM registration law is now in full effect after the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) concluded the registration of SIM cards in the Philippines.

The original deadline for SIM registration was on April 26, 2023, but it was extended by 90 days and ended on July 25.

To address the concerns of their subscribers who were unable to register their SIMs, Dito Telecom’s Chief Administrative Officer, Atty. Adel Tamano told SMNI News that they would offer means for reactivating the SIMs and completing the proper registration.

“While the SIM registration deadline has lapsed, there is a grace period of 5 days for reactivation. So, it isn’t too late. We will provide our subscribers the means to allow them to reactivate their SIMs and get properly registered,” Atty. Adel Tamano | Chief Administrative Officer, Dito Telecommunity Corp. said.

Tamano also urged subscribers to take advantage of the 5-day reactivation period.

Currently, there are 7.62 million dito subscribers who have already registered their SIM cards, while Smart has 50.0 million and globe has 48.4 million registered SIMs.

The total number of successful SIM registrations reached 105.9 million, which falls within the target range of between 100 million to 110 million registered SIMs by the deadline.

By July 31, all unregistered SIMs will be permanently deactivated and can no longer be reactivated or registered.
