GILAS Pilipinas secured its first victory in its match against Bahrain at the 19th Asian Games in Hangjow, China.
The Philippines team blew out Bahrain with a score of 86-61 in the preliminary round of Group C.
Before the game ended, Gilas came up to over 30 points, ensuring their first win.
Angelo Kouame and CJ Perez both scored 15 points while Justin Brownlee had 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Gilas Pilipinas is set to face Team Thailand on September 28.
Meanwhile, the Philippines gained its second bronze medal through the National Wushu Team.

Jones Inso won third place in the men’s Taijiquan-Taijijian all-around event.
Inso recorded a total score of 19.486 slightly finishing gold medalist Haonan Gao of China with 19.666 points and silver medalist Tak Yan Samuei Hui with 19.493 finish.
The Philippines has two bronze medals so far.
Macao Wushu athlete Li Yi wins gold
Meanwhile, Chinese Wushu Athlete Li Yi made history by becoming the first woman in Chinese to win gold at the Asian Games.
The 31-year-old considered her win as the perfect end to her twenty-year career of being an athlete.
Li Yi with a total score of 9.786 beat Hong Kong athlete Liu Xuxu with a 0.030 points lead.
Host country China, meanwhile, continues to lead the games, bagging 39 gold medals so far.
