Mexican authorities find three bodies where Australian brothers, American friend went missing

THE parents of missing Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson just started their heart-wrenching journey to Mexico when they received another devastating news – three bodies within the same area where their two sons and their American friend mysteriously disappeared have been found.

The bodies were discovered in a well located on a farm that authorities described as remote and difficult to access.

A fourth body which authorities believe has been there for a longer period was also recovered from the same place.

The bodies were found after a week-long extensive search. The three victims were aged between 30 to 33 years old.

The two brothers from Western Australia were on a surfing trip to Mexico’s Baja California region near the U.S. border when they failed to arrive at their pre-arranged AirBNB accommodation last Saturday. Baja California is known as one of Mexico’s most violent states inhabited by local drug gangs who are fighting each other though cases related to civilians being harmed are rare.

Police discovered a burnt-out car, abandoned tents, and recovered a phone that belonged to one of the missing brothers from a female suspect who also possessed a small quantity of drugs during their manhunt.

Friends and family of the Callum brothers turned to social media for any information on their whereabouts, saying it was “out of character” for them not to be in contact.

Three Mexican nationals, a woman and two men, have been arrested concerning their disappearance and were charged with a crime similar to kidnapping.

The bodies have not yet been identified but authorities will conduct forensic tests on the remains to allow for identification of the bodies.
