HINDI nababahala ang kampo ni Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy ng The Kingdom of Jesus Christ sa kabila ng pangdadawit ng US Department of Treasury sa pangalan ng butihing Pastor sa listahan ng umano’y sangkot sa korupsyon at paglabag sa karapatang pantao.
Ayon sa isang abogado ng KJC na si Atty. Manny Medrano, hindi maaaring pakialaman ang mga ari-arian ng Kingdom hangga’t walang civil law suit o seizure warrant na pinapayagang kumpiskahin ang mga nasabing ari-arian.
“For the church lawyers and the lawyers for the Pastor, we’re not terribly concerned because that’s not gonna happen is federal agents coming in and seizing property belonging to the church in the United States. Not based on this press release by US Department of Treasury, because that’s simply not permitted,” Atty. Manny Medrano, KJC Legal Counsel.
Dagdag pa ni Atty. Ferdie Topacio, isa rin sa mga legal counsel ng KJC, kailangan munang dumaan sa korte o magkaroon ng paglilitis bago ma-freeze o kumpiskahin ang mga ari-arian.
“You even have to go to court and have a trial before any funds are frozen or anything is confiscated. That is why even before, I have expressed my reservations about the constitutionality of the Magnitsky Law, can you imagine aside from what they are doing under the authority of this law to Pastor Quiboloy,” ayon kay Atty. Pahayag naman ng lead counsel ng kampo ni Pastor Apollo na si Atty. Michael Green, walang dapat gawin ang KJC at hindi na dapat pang pag-aksayahan ng panahon ito dahil sang-ayon din siya na hindi pwedeng kunin ang mga ari-arian.

Ang mas mahalagang usapin, ani Atty Medrano, ay ang paulit-ulit na kaso at alegasyon ng mga umano’y dating myembro ng kongregasyon, na kailanman ay hindi naman napatunayan.
“So, there’s really not a whole lot to do, to be honest with you. I think the more important issue is just the horrific slap in the face to the good reputation of the Pastor, as he has continuously submitted to false and baseless allegations based on the work of the insiders and dissidents as my colleague Mr. Green shared with you, that to me is a bigger issue here,” ayon kay Atty. Diin pa ni Atty. Medrano, dapat maunawaan ng publiko ang nangyayaring ito kay Pastor Apollo na siya’y hinatulan na sa mga bagay na hindi pa napapatunayan.
“But it’s so important to have a press conference like this to educate the world, the brothers and sisters of the Pastor, and the Philippines, so they understand that the allegations are baseless and that sanctions against the Pastor based on unproven allegations is not the right way to do it, it’s a denial of due process; it’s not correct; it’s not the correct American way to conduct oneself. So, that’s what we really wanna drive home but other than that, we are not losing sleep over whether properties gonna be seized or taken away from the church because that is not gonna happen,” ayon pa ni Atty.
