THE upcoming Lunar New Year brings hope of attracting foreign tourists and boosting profits for Thailand’s tourism sector.
Tourism officials have prepared a variety of spectacular events across the country for the celebrations next week.
The 2024 Chinatown ceremony which will take place in Bangkok is the highlight of the annual celebration.
The Chinatown ceremony committee in Bangkok earlier this week said that this year’s event will be full of activities, performances, products, and services guaranteed to satisfy visitors.
This includes dragon and lion dances, as well as cultural performances, among other things.
The events will be organized in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
Tourism officials said that the Chinese New Year celebrations in Thailand will attract more than 3 million Thai and international tourists this year, and generate an estimated 28.4 billion baht.
