THAILAND recently made a groundbreaking discovery after unearthing ancient dinosaur footprints estimated to be 225 million years old or more.
Thailand’s Department of Mineral Resources encountered a rare find of prehistoric footprints said to belong to dinosaurs that are believed to have roamed the earth millions of years ago.
This historic find occurred at the border between Phetchabun and Khon Kaen provinces as part of a survey that started on January 10.
Experts who analyzed the footprints said they belong to five different species of dinosaurs.
The fossilized dinosaur tracks are well preserved, with the toes, claws, and soles of the dinosaurs’ feet still clear, according to the scientists.
Further study is needed to determine the species behind the ancient footprints.
The age of the footprints makes it one of the oldest in Asia and an addition to Thailand’s rich fossil history.
