Three Australians in ICU after Singapore Airlines nightmare

THE horrors of a Singapore Airlines flight that experienced extreme turbulence earlier this week were still fresh in the memory of passengers who were onboard the aircraft.

Dozens of them are still recovering from hospitals in Thailand including 12 Australians and one permanent resident.

One of them has been discharged as of Wednesday.

A 73-year-old British passenger died from a suspected heart attack.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade assured that the injured citizens were receiving treatment in hospitals in the Thai capital of Bangkok.

Singapore Airlines Flight SQ321 was bound from London to Singapore when extreme turbulence hit the aircraft while cruising 37,000 feet up in the air on Tuesday.

The head of Singapore Airlines has apologized for the fatal incident and assured the company is cooperating with relevant authorities for the investigation.
