IN a Telegram post, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar marked the 500 days of the conflict by saying that the Kerch Strait Bridge was targeted to disrupt Russia’s supply line.
Maliar noted that the 500th day—or Saturday, marked the 273 days since the first strike on the said bridge, which was carried out in order to break the Russian logistics.
“It has been 273 days since the first strike was conducted on the Crimean Bridge to break the Russian logistics,” Hanna Maliar, Deputy Defense Minister, said.
It can NBE remembered that the Crimean bridge exploded on October 8, 2022, when a truck blast ignited seven fuel tanks on a train resulting in 3 people’s dead.
The blast also caused serious damage to the facility but has fully been repaired since.
Russia condemned the incident, calling it a terrorist attack done by the Ukrainian intelligence service.
Ukrainian officials cheered for the incident but did not take responsibility.
Even President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied involvement.
“We definitely did not order that, as far as I know,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine, said.
Several media outlets meanwhile, reported sources that it was Kyiv behind the explosion.
Reports citing Vasily Malyuk, the head of Ukraine’s Security Service, hinted at Ukraine’s role in the attack, saying that,
“Given that this was a logistics route that had to be cut off, certain measures were taken.”
