Vietnam records highest-ever temperature of 44.1ºC

VIETNAM has recorded its highest-ever temperature of 44.1 degrees Celsius, with experts predicting it would soon surpass its own record due to climate change.

Scientists have long warned that heat waves and other natural calamities are set to get worse as a result of the man-made climate crisis as they urged nations to cut greenhouse gas emissions rapidly and immediately to save lives.

Weather experts and authorities urged the population to remain indoors following the temperature records of 44.1 degree Celsius- the highest ever temperature recorded in the country.

The figure surpassed the previous record temperature of 43.4 degrees Celsius in 2019.

Officials advised a local water supply company to ensure that there will be enough supply of water for domestic use.

Vietnam is now entering its hottest summer months as global warming aggravates adverse weather.

A study published by researchers at Harvard University and the University of Washington in 2022 warned that most of the world will likely experience dangerous levels of heat that is between three and 10 times more often by 2100.

The neighboring country of Laos and Thailand’s capital city of Bangkok also sweltered under a week-long heat wave that brought widespread suffering to millions of people in Asia.
