Bong Go ranks 2nd to 4th in latest Tangere senatorial survey: ‘Patuloy ang serbisyong may malasakit!’

THE December 10-13, 2024, nationwide survey by Tangere placed Senator Christopher “Bong” Go as one of the leading contenders for the upcoming 2025 senatorial elections. Garnering 49.50% voter preference, Senator Go secured a 2nd to 4th ranking among senatorial aspirants. The survey was conducted among 2,400 qualified respondents with a margin of error of ±1.96%.

In comparison to Tangere’s November 6-9, 2024, survey, where Senator Go ranked third with 50.13%, his current position reflects a slight adjustment in numbers but maintains his status as one of the frontrunners.

Senator Go’s strong showing in Tangere’s surveys complements his performances in other major opinion polls. In PUBLiCUS Asia Inc.’s PAHAYAG 2024 End-of-the-Year Survey, conducted from November 29 to December 3, he emerged as one of the top choice in the unaided voting preference category. In the aided voting preference results, he climbed to fourth place, a notable rise from his fifth-place ranking in October.

Meanwhile, the Issues and Advocacy Center’s Pulso ng Pilipino (PnP) Fourth Quarter Pre-Poll Survey, held from November 5 to December 1, placed Senator Go in the fifth spot with 46.5% voter preference.

“Ang aking layunin ay masigurong nararamdaman ng bawat Pilipino ang malasakit ng gobyerno, lalo na sa kalusugan at pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan,” he emphasized.

Since the beginning of 2024, Senator Go has consistently ranked among the top choices for the 2025 senatorial elections. Notable surveys from Pulse Asia and OCTA Research this year demonstrated his deep connection with voters across different regions and demographics. In the September 6-13 Pulse Asia survey, Senator Go ranked 4th to 7th with 40.3%. OCTA Research’s August 28-September 2 survey placed him between 3rd and 6th with 49%. March 2024 surveys showed Senator Go in the 2nd to 3rd spots in OCTA Research with 49.9%, and 3rd to 4th in Pulse Asia with 44.2%.

Senator Go’s legislative agenda and public outreach have centered on health reforms, accessible public services, youth and sports development, disaster resilience, public order, among others.

“Para sa akin, ang pinakamahalagang maipamana sa ating mga kababayan ay ang sistemang handang umalalay sa kanila sa oras ng pangangailangan,” Senator Go said.

As Chair of the Senate Health Committee, Go emphasized the need for further investments in the country’s healthcare system, especially to assist Filipinos who struggle with hospital expenses. Go also reiterated his call to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to ensure that funds are used effectively to promote health and protect the well-being of Filipinos.

Go is the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized the Malasakit Centers program. He also principally sponsored and is one of the authors of RA 11959, also known as the Regional Specialty Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of specialty centers within existing Department of Health regional hospitals. He also advocated for the creation of Super Health Centers nationwide to bring primary healthcare closer to communities.

Aside from health, Go is one of the authors and co-sponsors of RA 11641, which created the Department of Migrant Workers.

Additionally, Go is the principal author and co-sponsor of Republic Act 12076, also known as the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act. This law seeks to establish permanent, fully equipped evacuation centers nationwide to provide safer and more secure temporary shelters for evacuees. He also filed SBN 188, which aims to create the Department of Disaster Resilience (DDR).

In his first term as senator, Go has authored 16 laws, principally sponsored 80 laws including 78 measures for the establishment or upgrade of public hospitals, and served as co-author or co-sponsor for 185 laws so far.

“Hindi po tayo tumitigil sa ating pagsisikap na mas mailapit ang mas maayos na serbisyo sa bawat Pilipino lalo na pagdating sa kalusugan at kabuhayan. Bilang inyong Mr. Malasakit, patuloy akong magseserbisyo sa inyo dahil bisyo ko ang magserbisyo, at ako ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo ‘yan sa Diyos,” he ended.
