CDRRMO responds to trapped students at LPU Davao International School

AT 01:03 AM on February 21, 2025, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) swiftly responded to an emergency at LPU Davao International School after receiving a report of students trapped inside an elevator due to a power outage.

The blackout caused an elevator malfunction, leaving five students trapped inside. Upon receiving a call, the CDRRMO-LECRD ECAPD Unit immediately deployed its Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team, EMS Units, PNP Mobile 11, and BDRRMC Communal to the scene.

Upon arrival, the USAR team quickly assessed the situation and worked alongside school staff to ensure a safe and efficient rescue operation. To provide relief to the trapped students, a small opening was created to enhance airflow while the team carefully carried out the extraction process.

Through swift coordination and precise rescue efforts, all five students were safely extricated and assessed for medical concerns. After careful assessment, they were found to be in stable condition, with no untoward incidents reported, and no serious medical intervention needed.

CDRRMO remains committed to protecting the community and responding promptly to all emergencies.
