ISRAEL has intensified its military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
On Monday, Israeli airstrikes killed a prominent Hezbollah commander, Hussein Ali Hussein, who was part of the group’s rocket and missile unit near the Israeli border.
Israel also targeted a weapons warehouse in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, a region with a strong Hezbollah presence.
Lebanese authorities confirmed that eight people were injured in the Bekaa Valley strike, including two young Syrian girls.
Video circulating online shows the aftermath of the explosion, with reports indicating that an arms depot was hit.
Hezbollah later confirmed Hussein’s death, identifying him as Hussein Ali Hussein Suleiman, also known as Malak.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to a new Gaza cease-fire proposal. He urged Hamas to do the same. Negotiations are scheduled to continue in Egypt on Wednesday.
