PHILIPPINE Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan led the donning and oath-taking ceremony of newly promoted officers of the National Auxiliary Main Office (NAMO) at the Manila Polo Club, Forbes Park, Makati City on 09 April 2024.
Two Auxiliary Rear Admirals, six Auxiliary Commodores of NAMO took an oath before CG Admiral Gavan.
“A promotion is not a mere ceremonial act generously handed to individuals for trivial matters, it is a solemn recognition of a person’s worth to the organization,“ CG Admiral Gavan expressed.
“I know for certain that the newly promoted officers are deserving of their promotion, but a promotion to the next higher rank should not be the objective for being in the PCGA. Numbers, ranks and accolades are not why we are here. We are here to serve the Filipino people,“ he added.
PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr and Chief of Coast Guard Staff, CG Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio and other senior and junior officers witnessed the event.
