Proposed increase in NAIA terminal fee is still under consideration—MIAA

AN increase in the terminal fee at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is expected by 2025.

Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista mentioned a potential hike to P950 from the current P550.

This comes amid the 170.6 billion peso rehabilitation project led by the San Miguel Corporation consortium at the main airport gateway starting in September.

Currently, domestic flights pay a terminal fee of P200, while international destinations pay P550.

Secretary Bautista clarified that the exact amount of the increase still requires Cabinet approval.

Meanwhile, according to Manila International Airport Authority or MIAA General Manager Eric Jose Ines, the terminal fee increase remains a proposal, part of a broader adjustment in airport stakeholder fees.

“The increase in airport fees will still require Cabinet approval,’’ according to Eric Jose Ines General Manager, MIAA.

‘’Yes, they will be included. These are all just proposals, so it’s difficult to say because we don’t know what the National Government’s decision will be,’’ he added.

Meanwhile, Ines also mentioned that the proposed rate hike has been under review even before he assumed office.
