Syria reports of Israeli airstrikes targetting Aleppo Airport

EARLY on Wednesday, Syria reported the third barrage of missile strikes on Aleppo Airport in six months by Israel.

State media SANA, quoting a military source reported that the strike was carried out from the Mediterranean Sea, west of the Coastal City of Latakia.

As seen in a video taken at about 3:55 am local time, flashes of light can be seen and explosions can be heard.

Following the said attack, there were no reports of casualties but the airport is currently out of service.

Head of Syria’s Civil Aviation Service, Bassem Mansour told local media that teams were working on repairs.

It can be noted that recently, pro-Iranian militias are expanding their influence in the Aleppo Province where some of the major bases are located.

Meanwhile, the Israeli government is yet to comment on the matter.
