UKRAINE claims everyday gains near the destroyed city of Bakhmut.
This comes as forces of Moscow and Kyiv continue to counter each other on counteroffensive gains.
Ukraine is claiming particularly fruitful gains in its counteroffensive in the past few days, and that the Ukrainian Army was making gains every day near Bakhmut.
Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar claimed that Ukrainian forces are advancing on the Southern flank of the Besieged City, but admitted that their troops were facing serious resistance as Russian forces are pouring all their troops to stop Ukraine’s advances in the South and East.
But, Russia refuted Ukraine’s claims by releasing a video of the fierce fighting near Bakhmut.
The said video, with the caption “We hold our lines” shows that Russian Airborne Forces were detecting the advances of the Ukrainian Army, with Russian paratroopers opening a massive fire at the Ukrainian units.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine’s bid to advance a meter was foiled.
Many Senior Ukrainian Officials have said that expectations about the counteroffensive have been blown out of proportion.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Aleksei Reznikov claimed the warfare was merely a preview and was not the main event, which had been receiving hype for many months.
The counteroffensive of Ukraine has reportedly suffered heavy losses and casualties for the Ukrainian military.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Monday said Ukraine’s Leopard Tank fleet was dwindling, with Ukraine losing 16 Leopard Tanks, which Shoigu described as amounting to 100 percent of the tanks of such types supplied by Portugal and Poland.
The Russian Defense Chief also alleged that the foreign backers of Ukraine were pressuring the country to continue assaults on Russian positions despite the loss of 2,500 pieces of heavy weaponry during the conflict.
