IN response to the ongoing ash emissions and volcanic earthquakes from Mt. Kanlaon, the Philippine Army‘s 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion, in collaboration with the 2nd Civil Military Operations Company (2CMOC), 3CMOBn, CMOR, PA, and under the operational control of the 303rd Infantry (Brown Eagle) Brigade, unloaded 29,973 boxes of N95 masks at Barangay Poblacion, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
The face masks were donated by the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc., and received by SB Member Hon. Añejo G. Nicor on behalf of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of La Castellana. These masks will be distributed to families affected by the Mt. Kanlaon ash emissions, providing protection against the harmful effects of volcanic ash.
Meanwhile, the 62IB remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in delivering essential aid to the people of Negros. The battalion continues to prioritize the safety and security of residents affected by the calamity while upholding peace and stability in Central Negros.
