GO Negosyo held the Women Entrepreneurship Summit last Saturday, March 18, at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City.
As Go Negosyo recognizes the success of Filipina businessmen in different fields of expertise.
With that, 15 outstanding Filipina entrepreneurs were awarded the inspiring Filipina entrepreneurship award during the summit.
The award is given to outstanding Filipina entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made a meaningful impact in their communities.
Some of the awardees spoke to SMNI sharing their insights from humble beginnings to success.
“I started working when I was 12 and it wasn’t easy for me. I had a hard time because I was underage, and from there I started to become an online seller at the age of 15. I became an online seller at the age of 19 when I started Brilliant Skin Essentials,” said Glenda dela Cruz, CEO, Brilliant Skin Essentials.
“To all the viewers, to all the entrepreneurs, to all the dreamers, always remember that nothing is impossible and we can achieve it as long as we work hard and work hard,” she added.
“It really means a lot and I think it really goes out for my bikers and employees and all the customers out there who really use this product every day. And I’m very honored,” said Dela Cruz.
Go negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said that Filipina entrepreneur is making a huge impact on the economy.
And thus, their achievements would make an impact on those aspiring Filipina businessmen.
“Because we know most of the small entrepreneurs are women. They are the breadwinners of the family. And almost most of our micro, 99% of them are women. And according to our statistics, the micro, small, and medium employ at least 84% of people no. Employment is a big thing, but employment is really even, even if they are small but they are very many. So that’s very important that we help the MSMEs to at least scale up,” said Joey Concepcion, Founder, Go Negosyo.
Headlining the event was First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, with US Ambassador Marykay Carlson, Department of Trade and Industry Sec. Alfredo Pascual.
More than 200 outstanding women entrepreneurs have already been given the award since its inception.
The Women Entrepreneurship Summit 2023 was also a day of insightful discussion and inspiring stories.
Go Negosyo also conducted free entrepreneurship mentoring sessions simultaneous with the event, while sponsors offering assistance on capital and access to markets were on hand, including Esquire Financing Inc., which will offer interest-free loans of Php50,000 to attendees of the Women Entrepreneurs Summit.
The Women Summit 2023 was held in partnership with the US Embassy in time for the women’s month celebration.
“We’ve been doing this for 17 years. This is a long journey. And we will continue,” said Concepcion.
