“Currently, the Tourism for Cebu, if you talk about the city, yes, the city (is) doing very great already. Thanks to the domestic tourism. Domestic tourism is actually giving the hotel right now the life even not just the occupancy but the restaurants,” ayon kay Alfred Reyes, HRRACI President.
“What we are looking this couple of months is the arrival of Chinese markets, this is very promising as what they said they have already, in fact we’ve seen already local airline such as AirAsia, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines are starting to fly early to Japan. So, Japan is the last one that opened, the Korean market are already coming back but not to the pre-pandemic level. We can see already the acceleration of the Korean market, you can see already especially in the resorts but I would say that 40-50% of the pre-pandemic level. The Taiwan market are slowly coming in. We already have 4 airlines are flying direct to Cebu, which is a very good sign. That’s why if you notice in the tourism congress we included GMR (airport) to talk about the gateway in the South. So we are very optimistic, tourism for both (domestic) international to come back to the pre-pandemic level” dagdag ni Reyes.
“We would like to invite each and everyone this is our first VisMin Tourism Congress organized by Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Associations of Cebu and of course is co-presented by Union Bank that would be on July 13 to 15 at Waterfront Hotel Cebu and Casino, again we would like to invite each and everyone to join us in this particular travel show and not just but also to the travel fair and 2-day conference, one of its kind, the first in the south.
