DUMATING na sa Pilipinas si Pangulong Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. kasama si First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at delegasyon na kasama sa unang state visit ng Chief Executive sa bansang China.
Bago ang alas singko ng hapon nang lumapag sa Villamor Airbase ang PAL Flight PR001 mula sa sa itinuturing na ‘fruitful’ state visit ng Pangulo sa Beijing.
China, mahalagang partner ng Pilipinas – PBBM
Sa arrival statement ni Pangulong Marcos, sinabi nitong ang bansang China ay itinuturing nitong pinakamahalagang partner ng Pilipinas.
“I have considered that despite the fact that we were there for essentially 2 days and working for a day and a half, there is much we are have been able to achieve as I have said it is a good start and we will continue to work on this most important relationship and the most important partner of the Republic of the Philippines,” saad ni Pangulong Marcos.
Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, malaki ang naging pakinabang ng Pilipinas sa paglago ng bansang China bilang isang kaibigan at kapitbahay sa rehiyon.
Naging produktibo ang bilateral meetings ng Pangulo partikular na kay Chinese President Xi Jinping na sumentro sa usaping agrikultura, enerhiya, imprastraktura, trade, science and technology and people to people ties.
PBBM at Chinese Pres. Xi nagkaroon ng malalim at direktang diskurso kaugnay sa West Philippines Sea
Inihayag ni Pangulong Marcos na nagkaroon ng malalim at prangkang talakayan kay President Xi kaugnay sa usapin ng West Philippines Sea (WPS)
Ipinunto ng Pangulo na iba na ang pagtingin ng dalawang bansa sa usapin ng WPS kung saan hindi na ito nagiging hadlang para magkaroon ng mas produktibong at multi-faceted na kooperasyon.
“President Xi and I also had an in-depth and frank discussion on the West Philippine Sea issue. We took note of our growing maturity of this bilateral relationship – this bilateral relationship which now allows both sides to manage differences on the West Philippine Sea, so as to not allow it to hinder the rest of our fruitful engagements and multi-faceted cooperation,” ayon sa Pangulo.
Binigyang-diin din ng Pangulong Marcos kung papaano tatahakin ng kaniyang administrasyon ang isinusulong nitong independent foreign policy.
“I emphasized to President Xi how my administration intends to pursue an independent foreign policy: that we are more than willing to cooperate whenever possible, in the pursuit of regional peace and our two countries’ national interest,” aniya pa.
Dagdag ng Chief Executive, na nagkasundo sila ni President Xi na hindi maapektuhan ng maritime issue ang kabuoang relasyon sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at China.
“We agreed that maritime issues between the two countries do not comprise the entirety of our relations, but we acknowledged as well that they remain a significant concern and priority for the Philippines and for the region,” ayon pa sa Punong Ehekutibo.
Upang maiwasan ang anumang hindi pagkakaunawaan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa, lumagda ng kasunduan ang Pilipinas at China upang magkaroon ng direktang komunikasyon sa iba’t ibang level hanggang sa pinakamataas.
Ito aniya ay makatutulong upang mas gumanda ang tiwala ng dalawang bansa sa isa’t isa.
“To avoid possible misunderstanding and miscalculation, we agreed to establish direct communication lines at various levels up to the highest level. I therefore, welcome the signing of an agreement between our foreign ministries in this regard, and directed our agencies to revitalize existing bilateral mechanisms to promote further mutual trust and confidence in each other,” dagdag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Pag-uusap kaugnay sa oil at gas exploration sa WPS, bubuhayin – PBBM
Sa usapin naman ng renewable energy, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na bubuhayin ng dalawang bansa ang usapin sa oil at gas development at iba pang alternatibong mapagkukunan ng enerhiya.
“On energy cooperation, we agreed to resume discussions on oil and gas development and explore opportunities for renewable energy, such as solar, wind, photovoltaic energy, and even we touched upon nuclear energy,” aniya pa.
Pangulong Marcos nakipagpulong sa mga Chinese business leaders
Bago umalis ng China ng Huwebes si Pangulong Marcos ay nagkaroon ito ng pagkakataon na makipagpulong sa mga Chinese business leaders at investors mula sa matataas na korporasyon.
Ilan sa natalakay sa roundtable meeting ay ang usaping sa renewable energy, agri-business, nickel processing, battery at electric vehicle manufacturing.
Pangulong Marcos nakapagtala ng mahigit $20-B trade investment sa China
Ipinagmalaki naman ni Pangulong Marcos na tinatayang nasa 22.8 billion dollars ang naitalang investment plans at halos 2.1 billion dollars na halaga ng trade purchase intention.
China magsisimula nang mag-angkat ng durian, mangosteen mula sa Pilipinas
Samantala, magsisimula nang mag-angkat ang bansang China sa Pilipinas ng durian, mangosteen, at specialty rice varieties.
“China is willing to import more quality agricultural produce from the Philippines, and specifically was mentioned very often was the importation of durian. And we signed the agreement on the 4th of January and the agreement between the Philippines and China as to the rules and regulations to make possible the importation of durian, mangosteen, and other specialty rice varieties and other fruits to China to help redress the trade imbalance that we now have,” aniya.
Naniniwala si Pangulong Marcos, na kahit nasa dalawang araw lang ito sa China ay maituturing na magandang simula ang unang state visit nito.
