ACCORDING to the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that will grant citizenship to foreigners who join the nation’s armed forces.
As an additional benefit, family members of such foreigners will also be given Russian citizenship.
According to the Head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Aleksander Khinshtayn, the new decree can help extradite foreigners who took part in the fighting for Russia in other countries.
It can be recalled that the russian military began signing contracts with foreigners in November 2022.
Before, only those who committed to at least one year of service were given a simplified path toward naturalization.
