SECRETARY Carlito Galvez was commissioned by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to assure the Negrenses of their safety and security in the midst of the search for suspects involved with the Pamplona massacre.
Galvez shared the reassurance of the president and the acts taken by the government during a press conference held at the Negros Oriental Provincial Capitol early afternoon.
“The instruction of the President to me is very clear. One, to get all the ten suspects. Two, to dismantle all the tentacles of violence here in Negros,” said Sec. Carlito Galvez.
He also mentioned that the President in response to the situation in the province, has organized a joint taskforce composed of two brigades and 6 battalions from the AFP and PNP to carry out the President’s directive and search warrants.
“Under the order of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. we have organized a joint task force to step up the joint law enforcement operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the PNP Negros to implement the clear directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.”
“The Armed Forces of the Philippines has been tapped to organize two brigades and six battalions to work with the PNP in carrying out the president’s order” Galvez added.
He also emphasized that the government will also ensure the safety of civilians included in the incident, particularly the family of the slain civilians as well as the witnesses.
“We shall also endeavor to ensure the safety of the families of the victims, as well as those witnesses,” he added.
Galvez also mentioned the President’s firm guidance regarding the case in order to bring these lawless elements to justice as soon as possible.
