IT’S undeniable that Filipinos have a strong passion for playing basketball.
Regardless of age, basketball is a sport that they hold dear to their hearts.
Dagami, a third-class municipality in the province of Leyte, is the newest location chosen by SMNI Foundation Inc. in partnership with the People’s Republic of China Embassy in the Philippines to establish a basketball court.
The inauguration took place on Wednesday morning, the first day of November, attended by key figures including Engr. Edwin Labanta from the Leyte Provincial General Services Office, who represented Governor Jericho Petilla, Dagami Municipal Administrator Antonio del Pilar, and Barangay Cabariwan Chairman Leonardo Pedriquiz.
Chinese Embassy Counselor Ji Linpeng and Admar Vilando, an anchor and volunteer with SMNI Foundation Inc., also witnessed the event.
SMNI Foundation had previously built a basketball court in Barangay Tamayong, Calinan, Davao City, in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy.
It is expected that this initiative will continue to benefit many more locations across the country.
