DOT celebrates Paskong Pinoy 2024 at its Central Office in Makati City

THE Department of Tourism (DOT) on Wednesday (Dec. 18) celebrated Paskong Pinoy 2024 at its Central Office in Makati City.
During the celebration, the DOT employees and officials exhibited their unique interpretations of what Paskong Pinoy is through their Outfit of the Day (OOTD), featuring Christmas elements in the Filipino culture such as parol and rice cakes, among others.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco expressed her delight as the Christmas spirit is still evidently present despite the calamities and other challenges that we have weathered throughout the year.
“Tayong mga Pinoy, we exercise a very high degree of compassion for our fellow Filipinos and those that are affected by calamities continue to be in our hearts and in our thoughts. So this is our way of expressing our oneness with those who are still suffering from the ravages of calamities. But one thing that I have concluded from the activity this afternoon, simple though it may be, is this, no calamity can ever take away the Christmas cheer of the Filipino, and no adversity could ever break the Filipino spirit,” she said.
Secretary Frasco also thanked the employees and officials of the Department for the unwavering support and hard work that they have poured as we transform the Philippines into a tourism powerhouse in Asia.
“We are fully aware this year in the Department of Tourism, could not be possible without the service and the sacrifice of each and every one of our officials, as well as our employees here at the Central Office. It is no wonder that with such a dedicated, passionate, and indefatigable set of public officials, that the World Travel Awards honored the Department of Tourism for the very first time in its 52-year history with the World’s Leading Tourism Board recognition. Congratulations!”the tourism chief said.
