DOT showcase the vibrant culinary scene of Davao City in celebration of Filipino Food Month

THE Department of Tourism (DOT) – Philippines through Department of Tourism – Davao Region together with the Department of Agriculture and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts showcased the vibrant culinary scene of Davao City in celebration of Filipino Food Month, themed “Engaging the Youth in Shaping the Future of the Philippine Culinary Heritage and Gastronomy” during the three-day event of Kalutong Pilipino 2024.

Day 1 saw the esteemed presence of Councilor Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz, Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre, and Ms. Jennifer R. Romero from the Davao City Tourism Operations Office, alongside other offices from different regions of Davao and representatives from various National Offices, all gathering to celebrate the rich tapestry of Filipino flavors and culinary creativity. A captivating food presentation by Chippens, showcasing Lumpiang Shanghai and Chicken Pastil also added to the festive atmosphere of the occasion.

Day 2 highlighted Waterfront Insular Hotel’s Tiyula Itum, offering a taste of Filipino heritage. While day 3 showcased Davao de Oro’s culinary offerings and promoted sustainable food practices through urban gardening talks.
