Emirati field hospital in Gaza to access Starlink internet service by SpaceX

THE UAE is collaborating with international and regional organizations to introduce Starlink satellite broadband at its field hospital in southern Gaza.

The high-tech satellite system will provide life-saving medical consultations through real-time video calls with patients in the Gaza Strip.

It will also allow communication between hospitals.

The Emirati field hospital opened in Gaza in early December as part of the Gallant Knight 3 humanitarian operation ordered by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The initiative received approval from Israel.

Israel’s communications minister previously opposed the move due to concerns the satellite technology could be exploited by Hamas.

The UAE forged the partnership after communication services in Gaza have blacked out several times since the war started in the besieged enclave.
