PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assures the victims of the magnitude 7.4 earthquake in Mindanao that they will receive assistance from the government.
In a statement, Marcos said that the Departments of Social Welfare and Development, Interior and Local Government, and local government units are actively coordinating efforts to provide essential aid to those in need.
The President further stated that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is closely examining the CARAGA region with the support of the Office of Civil Defense and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-PHIVOLCS) is also monitoring aftershocks to ensure the continued safety of these areas.

In connection with this, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian has headed to Tandag City for the coordination of disaster response efforts with the local government of Surigao del Sur.
With other DSWD officials, the meeting aims to strengthen government assistance to those affected by the recent earthquake in the province.
President Bongbong Marcos hopes that the country will overcome the challenges brought about by this calamity.
