THAI Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn traveled to the Chinese capital of Beijing earlier this week and held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang relayed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings to Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
China’s top diplomat said that Princess Sirindhorn has visited China more than 50 times, a testament to how both countries treat each other like a family.
The Thai princess in turn said her country is willing to strengthen cooperation with China on science, technology, agriculture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
China has been Thailand’s largest trading partner and its biggest source of foreign investment in recent years.
Both countries will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations next year.
