VICE President Sara Duterte responded to allegations connecting her to the Davao Death Squad, Oplan Tokhang, and incidents of extrajudicial killings in Davao.
According to Vice President Duterte, these accusations are baseless as she was never implicated in these issues during her tenure as vice mayor and mayor of Davao.
“Suddenly, witnesses emerged against me when I was elected vice president. Now, I am among those accused in the international criminal court,” according to Vice President Sara Duterte.
Apart from the timing, Vice President Duterte emphasized that attempts are being made to falsely link her to the issue to implicate her in the foreign court’s proceedings.
“The ICC’s insistence on meddling with our judiciary is an encroachment on our sovereignty. This is a disrespect to the dignity of Filipinos and the honor of the Philippines,” she added.
