LGU officials of Carmen, Bohol made a courtesy visit to DOT

LOCAL government officials of Carmen, Bohol, led by Mayor Conchita Toribio-Delos Reyes, made a courtesy visit to the Department of Tourism (DOT) on Tuesday (April 23) at the DOT Central Office in Makati City.

Carmen is one of the municipalities that covers the area of the Chocolate Hills in Bohol. The purpose of the visit was to explore possible joint collaborations between Carmen and the DOT.

Tourism Secretary Frasco expressed her appreciation to the LGU officials for their efforts at initiating the exploration of potential partnerships in enhancing visitor experience at the Chocolate Hills Complex and in further promoting responsible tourism practices.

Likewise, Secretary Frasco expounded on the primary role of the DOT as a facilitator of balance between responsible tourism promotion and the adherence of tourism stakeholders to the policies of other agencies of the government.

Together with Mayor Toribio-Delos Reyes were Provincial Board Member Nathaniel Binlod, Municipal Accountant Dexter Chan, Municipal Staffs Caerels Dangan, and Francisco Delos Reyes, Atty. Veronica Petalcorin, Chocolate Hills advocate and Assistant Regional Director of COMELEC Region 7, was also with the group.

Meanwhile, with the Secretary to welcome the Carmen officials were Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, OIC-Undersecretary Verna Buensuceso, OIC-Assistant Secretary Judilyn Quiachon, and Director Annavie Lapitan.
