THE investigation continues after three US Marines died when a military aircraft crashed on Sunday amid the ongoing military exercises in Australia’s northern territory.
The incident took place about 80 kilometers north of the Australian Mainland on Sunday.
Of the 23 marines on board the MV-22B Osprey aircraft, three died and five others sustained serious injuries.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin offered his condolences to the affected families of the military personnel killed and injured in the incident.
The series of war games involved 2,500 troops from Australia, the Philippines, East Timor, and Indonesia.
This is the sixth fatal crash involving a U.S. Marine Osprey in the past 11 years.
