Abu Dhabi unveils $10-B tourism plan

ABU DHABI, the capital of the UAE, will spend $10 billion in upgrading its infrastructure to boost its local tourism industry.

Just a few miles from the capital lies the bustling city of Dubai, known for its luxurious and multicultural vibe, and record-breaking infrastructures.

Abu Dhabi plans to introduce new theme parks, cultural sites, retail experiences, and hotels as part of its tourism strategy.

The emirate is just one of the seven sheikhdoms in the UAE, but the capital alone welcomed 24 million visitors in 2023.

The UAE wants to attract nearly 40 million visitors in the next six years as part of its 2030 tourism strategy.

The initiative will also generate an estimated 178,000 new jobs by then.
