AMID talks in Saudi Arabia between the warring parties of Sudan, embassies of 2 middle eastern countries were reportedly raided in the past 2 days.
In a statement released by Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it condemned the attack on the resident of the head of the military office and all forms of violence and sabotage.
Furthermore, it pointed out that the attack was a ‘flagrant violation of international law and the Vienna Convention’.
In addition, the Jordanian Embassy’s military office in Khartoum was also attacked.
In response, Saudi Arabia, the mediator of the ongoing talks between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has condemned the attack.
The RSF has denied claims of involvement in the said incident.
In a Twitter post, it said,
“The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) refutes the Sudanese Armed Forces’ (SAF) false claims that our forces attacked a diplomatic mission and residence in Khartoum”.
The paramilitary force reiterated its commitment to the protection and security of all diplomatic missions, residences, and personnel.
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that the SAF and RSF came to an agreement to protect civilians amid the intensifying violence, however, no ceasefire has been agreed upon.
