Sweden ends secret training of Ukrainian soldiers

A spokeswoman for Swedish Armed Forces said they have trained Ukrainian soldiers to use the 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles it has donated to Kyiv.

Each military vehicle is equipped with a 40 mm automatic cannon that can target a “hovering helicopter from four kilometers away.”

The spokeswoman however did not specify how many Ukrainian soldiers were trained.

According to the local media, four companies of mechanized infantry have been trained at secret locations around the country over the last few months.

The range of military personnel trained ranges from a few dozen to hundreds of soldiers per company.

Since the start of the year, Sweden pledged to send 50 of its armored combat vehicles to Ukraine, including the mobile Archer artillery system with a firing range above 50 km, as well as shoulder-launched anti-tank missiles, anti-air missiles, and Leopard 2 tanks.

Sweden vowed to send a total military aid worth 16.9 billion Swedish kronor or $1.6 billion worth of aid to Ukraine.
