ON Saturday, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy celebrates the 1st anniversary of his conferment as Datu Pamulingan conferred by the Obu Manuvu Tribe.
Datu Pamulingan also visited the healing and reconciliation site, between him and Diarog Clan, along with the officials of the National Commission of Indigenous Peoples and other IP Leaders.
Back in 2022—Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ was adopted by the Obo Manuvu Tribe and conferred by the Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Conference for Peace and Development or MIPCPD, the honorary title of ‘Datu Pamulingan,” for his unwavering love and services rendered to the indigenous peoples in the Philippines.
Pastor Apollo was also honored for his significant contribution to empowering indigenous peoples’ cultural communities in the Philippines by “providing basic services and for “giving and allocating a platform for …the indigenous people and its communities to be heard and seen through Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) and other various media platforms.
Datu Pamulingan, which means one who possesses a discerning spirit and a divine gift from God”, is an important title for the tribe as it holds spiritual relevance.
Pamulingan also refers to a spirit from God that creates fire, rain, and other phenomena, and Pamulingan’s words are miraculous pronouncements that come to fulfillment.
On May 6, 2023, Datu Pamulingan commemorated the 1st anniversary of his conferment. As part of the event, Datu Pamulingan along with the various IP group leaders, and the National Commission of Indigenous Peoples or NCIP—visited the Healing and Reconciliation or HERO’s site at Glory Mountain, in Tamayong, Davao City, Philippines.
This is a significant place for Datu Pamulingan and Datu Diolito Diarog and his clan, as it was the place where the years of resentment, animosity, and conflicts between the two parties ended.
The event properly ensues for the 1st Anniversary of the Investiture of Datu Pamulingan at the Covenant Mountain and Paradise Garden of Eden Restored in Tamayong.
Gracing the event were NCIP Chairperson, Sec. Allen Capuyan, as well as the NCIP Regional Counterparts including Dir. Mumar Mamukid of Region XI, Director Jean Moendeg Zoilo of Region XII, Dir. Ordonio Rosero Jr. of Caraga Region, Mr. Pascual Patting of the NCIP Office of Empowerment and Human Rights, Mindanao Indigenous Peoples’ Council of Elders and Leaders or MIPCEL, Lipatuan Joel Unad, Bawan Tagaenod Jacob Lanes, Datu Diolito Diarog.
Former Cadre and presently, MIPCEL member, Datu Jumorito Guaynon, Bae Jessa Mae Crisostomo, of the Mindanao Indigenous People’s Youth Organization, Datu Edmund Pangilan, the Provincial Chieftain of Malungon Saranggani Province, IP Organization Chairman, Mahhabhok Luis Lambac Sr., Lt. Col. Allan Tesoro, SMNI Anchors in the popular, Laban Kasama ang Bayan, Bro. Jeffrey “Ka Eric” Celiz Almendras, and Dr. Lorraine Marie Badoy, and the heads of the United Indigenous Peoples Heritage of the Philippines or UNIPHIL headed by Bae Queen. Ms. Elizabeth Carreon, as well as the Kingdom leaders.
Meanwhile, Datu Pamulingan delivered a special message for the occasion and his future plans for the IPs.
“In my investiture speech last year, I said you are a beautiful people and I am proud to be one of you…Give high value to our heritage and existence,” Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy said.
Following the ceremony, everyone feasted on a sumptuous banquet.
Meanwhile, IP leaders and NCIP Officials also expressed their congratulatory messages to Datu Pamulingan.
Since the beginning of Datu Pamulingan’s ministry, he has always taken care of the IPs, and today Datu Pamulingan continues to honor humility, kindness, and resilience as their greatest assets.
