MARIING tiniyak ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez na hindi maaabuso ang Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) Act na isinusulong ng Marcos administration.
Saad ni Romualdez, kumpleto sa safety checks at safeguards ang MIF para hindi ito maging pugad ng korupsiyon.
Sa kanyang mensahe sa ASIA CEO Forum, giit ni Romualdez na may ‘three layers of audit’ ang bubuuin sa proposed MIF.
Ang mga ito ay ang internal audit, external audit at final audit mula sa Commission on Audit (COA).
Susuriin ng auditors kung nakasunod ba sa Santiago Principles ang mga transaksyon gamit ang MIF na siyang pamantayan ng lahat ng investment practices sa buong mundo.
Bukod dito, imomonitor din ng Maharlika Investment Fund Joint Congressional Oversight Committee ang investments at mga transaksyon na papasukin.
At ang lahat ng dokumento, transaksyon at reports sa MIF ay open to public.
Ang mga mapapatunayang nagkasala ng korupisyon sa mga direktor, trustee, at corporate officer ng MIF ay mahaharap sa criminal case.
“As far as the issue of possible misuse and abuse of the Fund, let me assure everyone that your House of Representatives is keenly aware of your concern,’’ ani Romualdez.
