DADALUHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang 2023 World Economic Forum na gaganapin sa Davos, Switzerland sa susunod na linggo.
Kinumpirma ito sa isinagawang pre-departure briefing sa pangunguna ni Malacañang press briefer Daphne Oseña-Paez.
Nagkaroon ng briefing ang Department of Foreign Affairs kanina kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. kung saan pinangunahan ni Secretary Enrique Manalo ang presentasyon; ito ay sumentro sa mga importanteng meetings lalo na sa new systems for investment, trade and infrastructure.
Saysay ni Oseña-Paez, bukod kay DFA Secretary Manalo, kabilang din sa nagpresenta kay Pangulong Marcos ng line up programs para sa World Economic Forum sina Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual; Department of Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno; Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople; at Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil.
Unang tema ng forum sa taong ito ay “Cooperation in a Fragmented World” kung saan tutuklasin ang mga bagong sistema para sa pamumuhunan, kalakalan at imprastraktura sa gitna ng pagbagsak ng ekonomiya.
“Second one is “Cooperation in our Multi-polar World Amidst Geopolitical Risks”; number three is “Energy Climate and Nature Amidst Energy and Food Crises”; four is “Partnerships with the Private Sector on Innovation and Resilience Amidst Current Industry Headwinds”; and five, “Work, Skills and Care Amidst Social Vulnerabilities,” saad ni Daphne Oseña-Paez, Malacañang press briefer.
Dagdag pa ni Oseña-Paez, binigyan ang Pilipinas ng pagkakataong ipasa ang mga prayoridad ng bansa sa seguridad sa pagkain at enerhiya, digitalization, climate action, pag-akit ng mga pamumuhunan at pagtataguyod ng kapaki-pakinabang na kalakalan.
Gayundin ang pagkakataon na makipagtulungan sa ibang mga bansa, negosyo, civil society at iba pang stakeholder, kasama ang pakikipagtulungan sa World Economic Forum sa ilan sa kanilang mga inisyatiba.
Samantala, kasama rin sa pulong-balitaan sa Malakanyang sina DFA Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and International Economic Relations Carlos Sorreta at DFA Assistant Secretary Eric Tamayo.
Inilatag ng DFA official ang ilang paksa na tatalakayin ni Pangulong Marcos sa naturang world forum.
“The World Economic Forum remains the premiere forum for world and business leaders to get together, to interact and come up with ideas and plans to address the many challenges and opportunities facing our global economy,” wika ni Usec. Carlos Sorreta, Multilateral Affairs & International Economic Relations, DFA.
Panukalang MIF at food security, inaasahang tatalakayin ni PBBM sa World Economic Forum
Ayon kay Usec. Sorreta, inaasahang tatalakayin ni Pangulong Marcos ang usapin sa food security at nutrisyon sa kanyang paglahok sa Economic Forum.
“So, there’s more to food security than just having a food, the quality is very important, especially for children. So, nutrition should always go hand in hand with the food security, and the President is scheduled to discuss this issue with other world leaders,” dagdag ni Sorreta.
Bukod sa food security, inaasahang tatalakayin din ni Pangulong Marcos ang panukalang Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) sa kanyang pakikiisa sa 2023 World Economic Forum.
“The World Economic Forum is a great venue to do sort of soft launch for our Sovereign Wealth Fund given the prominence of the forum itself, and global and business leaders will be there, and they will hear it directly from the President what fundamentals that we have, and that lead us to decide that we should have a Sovereign Wealth Fund,” aniya pa.
PBBM, makikipagkita sa Filipino community sa Switzerland
Samantala, inaasahan ding makikipagkita si Pangulong Marcos sa Filipino community sa Switzerland at maging sa mga Pinoy mula sa ibang bahagi ng Europa.
Saad ni Sorreta, bahagi ito ng mga aktibidad ng Pangulo sa gitna ng kanyang pakikiisa sa naturang Economic Forum.
“He will also have a number of activities, and sidelines including business meetings, as well as meeting with the Filipino community not only from Switzerland, I understand that other Filipino community members from other parts of Europe have asked to attend and of course, they will be allowed to attend,” pagtatapos ni Sorreta.
Inihayag ng DFA na tanging si Pangulong Marcos lamang ang lider mula sa ASEAN region na makikiisa sa 2023 World Economic Forum sa Davos, Switzerland.
