THE Philippine Air Force (PAF) installed new Wing Commanders for three (3) key Units in a Joint Ceremony held at the PAF Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, CJVAB, Pasay City on January 7, 2025. The ceremony was presided over by the Commanding General, PAF, LTGEN ARTHUR M CORDURA PAF.
During the event, COL ANGELITO R RETUTA PAF (MNSA) officially took over as the Wing Commander of the Tactical Operations Wing Northern Luzon (TOWNOL), succeeding COL JOSE JOHNSON T GRAYDA PAF (MNSA), who served in an acting capacity. COL RETUTA previously served as the Chief of the Air Force Real Estate Office prior to this new designation.
Subsequently, COL ROBERT R BITAS PAF (MNSA), assumed the role of Acting Wing Commander of the 950th Cyberspace and Electronic Warfare Wing (P), taking over from COL VICENTE A NALDOZA JR PAF (MNSA), who assumed as the Deputy Commander of the Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command. Before this appointment, COL BITAS served as the Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Command and Control, Communication, and Computer Systems, A6.
Moreover, MGEN RAMIL G OLOROSO PAF, the outgoing Wing Commander of 220th Airlift Wing, formally relinquished his duties and responsibilities to BGEN JOSELITO T LOPENA PAF. Prior to his new designation, BGEN LOPENA served as the Chief, AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center. Meanwhile, MGEN OLOROSO will now focus on his full-time role as Commander of the Air Mobility Command.
In his address, LTGEN CORDURA expressed gratitude to the outgoing leaders for their exceptional accomplishments and contributions to the PAF. The CG, PAF then called upon the newly installed Commanders to continue the legacy of excellence established by their predecessors.
LTGEN CORDURA urged the newly appointed commanders to uphold the highest standards of leadership, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the PAF remains a credible, agile, and future-ready force. He also expressed confidence in their ability to inspire their subordinates to reach even greater heights, as the PAF continues its focus on becoming a mission-oriented, capability-driven, and values-based Air Force.
