PNP deeper probe of raided POGO hub uncovers more fugitives among foreign workers

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has covered more fugitives among foreign workers from a raided Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) hub in Las Piñas City.

The PNP continues its dedicated efforts in the ongoing implementation of the warrant to search, seize, and examine data at Xinchuang Network Technologies, located at 501 Alabang-Zapote, Almanza Uno, Las Piñas.

It can be remembered that on July 4-5, 2023, a total of 320 personnel from various units of the PNP, including the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), Regional Headquarters (RHQ), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT-7), Regional Maritime Unit (RMDU), Human Rights Affairs Office (HRAO), Legal Service (LS), Las Piñas City Police Station (CPS), Intelligence Group (IG), and Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC), have been deployed to ensure completion of all required investigative procedures.

As part of the investigation, a total of 63 vaults have been opened out of the 139 seized.

The inventory of recovered items was managed by the ACG and witnessed by representatives from the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and Brgy. Officials.

Meanwhile, the PNP continues to profile foreign nationals linked to Xinchuang Network Technologies.

This ongoing effort aims to authenticate the identification of individuals that may be involved in illicit activities.

As a result of the profiling, 6 foreign nationals with warrants, 4 from China, and 2 from Taiwan have been isolated pending turnover to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

These individuals will be subjected to further legal proceedings following relevant immigration laws.

The PNP and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, have been conducting a meticulous investigation into illicit activities involving Xinchuang Network Technologies.

As part of this process, several warrants have been obtained to search and seize computer data at the company’s premises.

A team from the Bureau of Immigration(BI) has also arrived at the site to conduct biometric processing for foreign nationals.

To date, a total of 460 have been processed through this procedure.

A total of 2,773 persons have been identified within the compound.

The breakdown is as follows:

  1. Filipino: a total of 1,534 Filipino individuals have been processed and cleared to leave the compound.
  2. Foreign nationals: The remaining 1,239 individuals consist of foreign nationals, among whom: Isolated with warrants: 6 individuals while awaiting disposition from the BI consist of 1,233 individuals.

PNP Chief Police General Benjamin Acorda, Jr. said, that joint efforts of law enforcement agencies and their commitment to upholding the rule of law have been instrumental in the progress made thus far.
