Teenager killed, 3 injured in Stockholm shooting

A 15-year-old boy was killed while three other people were injured in Stockholm, as the long-term problem of gun Violence threatens to rattle anew the Swedish capital.

The shooting incident took place near the Farsta Centrum shopping mall in Southern Stockholm.

The latest episode of a gun attack killed a 15-year-old teenager and injured three others.

A heavy police presence remained in the area as detectives investigate the incident.

Two men had been arrested following a car chase south of Stockholm while the motive of the shooting is still being investigated.

Sweden is the only country in Europe where fatal shootings have risen significantly since 2000.

From one of the lowest rates of gun violence on the continent, it transformed into one of the highest in less than a decade, according to a report released by the Swedish national council for crime prevention (BRA).

The spate of shootings and violent attacks has been blamed on the rise of gangs as authorities struggle to contain the war-like violence.
