Russia accuses Ukraine of ‘terrorist’ attack in Moscow

THE Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of what it calls as a terrorist strike, to which Kyiv denied.

The city of Moscow encountered a wave of several drone strikes Tuesday morning, the first time that the Russian capital has faced a large-scale drone attack since the conflict broke out last year.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin ordered the evacuation of residents from two apartment blocks that were hit by the drones.

No residents of the buildings were hit or seriously hurt.

The mayor said two people requested medical assistance at the scene, but no one was hospitalized.

Various Russian telegram channels also posted an unverified video of the destruction of drones.

Meanwhile, the Russian defense ministry accused Ukraine of launching a terrorist attack using the drones.

“The Kyiv regime launched a terrorist attack with unmanned aerial vehicles on targets in the city of Moscow,” said Russian Defense Ministry

According to the ministry, the raid involved eight aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), all of which were hit.

Three of the 8 drones were suppressed by Russia’s electronic warfare means, while the remaining five drones were shot down using the Russian Pantsir-s Air Defense System operating outside of Moscow.

Meanwhile, Ukraine made no immediate comment on the attack.
