NAGLATAG na ng mga panukalang batas si House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco na kanilang tututukan pagkatapos ng State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ngayong taon.
Ang limang priority bills ay aprubado ng Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).
Una dito ang Philippine Virology Institute Act na layong magtayo ng Philippine Virology Institute na mangunguna sa research and development laban sa lahat ng viral diseases sa tao, hayop at halaman na papasok sa bansa.
Pangalawa ang Center for Disease Control Act para sa itatayong Philippine Center for Disease Control na mangangasiwa laban sa lahat ng banta sa kalusugan.
Dito nagkulang ang Pilipinas sa pagtama ng COVID-19 pandemic.
Kabilang din sa priority bills ang Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016 na magre-require sa lahat ng Filipino professionals na kumuha ng dagdag na formal o non-formal learning bago makapag-renew ng lisensya.
Ang Bureau of Immigration Modernization Act na tututok lamang sa pagpapaganda ng serbisyo sa Bureau og Immigration.
At ang National Housing Development Act na tututok sa housing backlog gamit ang socialized housing programs ng pamahalaan.
Target naman ni House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez na maipasa agad ang 2022 Proposed National Budget bago ang October deadline ng paghahain ng Certificate of Candidacy (COC) para sa susunod na eleksyon.
Ayon kay Romualdez, mas naging engaged ang Kongreso ngayon sa paghimay sa mga panukala gamit ang teleconference set-up.
“We will work hard to pass the 2022 national budget before the deadline of the filing of COCs. We will take advantage of the technology, in fact the Zoom has allowed us to have an engagement that is actually much more than what has been afforded by the actual presence of each and every member of the House,” pahayag ni Romualdez.
Bukod sa LEDAC approved bills, tutukan rin ng Kamara ang iba pang anti-COVID bills gaya ng Bisikleta para sa Kinabukasan Act, Online Registration of Voters Act, Local Build, Build, Build Program Act at amendments sa Government Procurement Act.
Samantala, nanawagan naman si Speaker Velasco sa Senado na aprubahan na ang Internet Transactions Act at ang Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos.
Ani Velasco, maraming priority bills si Presidente Duterte na naipasa na nila sa Kamara gaya ng mga nabanggit.
At ang iba dito ay nakatengga pa rin at naghihintay ng aksyon sa Senado.
“We in the House have actually passed a lot of the priority bills of the President, some of which are under deliberation in the Senate,” ani Velasco.
