PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed his appreciation for the contributions and sacrifices made by the members of the Malaysian Search and Rescue Team involved in the humanitarian mission to Turkiye after the devastating February 6 earthquake.
In his statement at the launch of the Civil Defense Month Celebration and special launcheon with the team members of Malaysia relief and humanitarian mission to Turkiye, he said that the government will not forget the services and sacrifices poured by the search teams in that operation.
He also said that carrying out the operations during winter and having to leave their own families for weeks were not easy for them.
As a sign of appreciation and gratitude from the Malaysian government to all members involved in the humanitarian mission in Turkiye, the government has considered and suggested that the granting of special allowances, awarding of medals, and certificates of appreciation can be given to the Malaysian search and rescue teams involved.
Prime Minister Anwar said that the grant of this initiative shows the concern of the Malaysian government in giving recognition and prioritizing the welfare of all rescuers who have made the name of the country good.
